Navarro Demo

Redesigning a 40-year legacy for the modern web.

I led the redesign and digital strategy for Navarro Remodeling, a family-owned business in the DMV. I transformed their messy, inconsistent website into a professional brand by creating a new visual identity, establishing a cohesive brand guide, and optimizing the site for lead generation and SEO.

Problem

The client’s digital presence was disorganized and lacked a professional foundation. There was no established color palette or typography, and imagery was scattered throughout the site without any visual hierarchy. This "messy" look created a trust gap—potential clients looking for high-end remodeling services were put off by a website that felt like an afterthought, making it difficult for the business to move away from low-ticket junk removal leads.

Defining the brand and logic

The first step was bringing order to the chaos. I developed a new brand guide that moved the business away from "messy" and toward "modern professional."

  • Systematic Design: I established a set color palette and typography system to ensure consistency across every page.

  • Visual Clarity: By creating these rules, I ensured that the brand looked unified, whether a user was on a mobile device or a desktop.

Asset Curation and Editing

Because the original imagery was "all over the place," I had to act as both a designer and an editor.

  • Image Editing: I selected and edited project photos to ensure they had a consistent tone and high-quality feel.

  • Layout Strategy: I organized these images into a clean portfolio structure so users could easily see the transformation from "Before" (Demo) to "After" (Remodel).

Functional UX & SEO

I applied my "designer who speaks dev" mindset to make the site perform as well as it looked.

  • New Contact Forms: I designed intuitive, multi-step forms that helped the client pre-qualify leads, making their business operations more efficient.

  • SEO Optimization: I overhauled the site’s metadata and optimized all image assets to improve load speeds and local search rankings in the Montgomery County area.

Research

To begin, I spoke with the product design team to better understand what information would be most valuable for users to view and update. These conversations also helped clarify what types of data we could collect to improve the user experience.

Afterward, I conducted preliminary research to identify best practices for gathering and organizing this type of user information effectively.

Final Result

The project resulted in a professional, high-converting platform that finally matched the family’s legacy.

  • Consistent Identity: A brand guide that eliminated the "messy" look and replaced it with visual authority.

  • Streamlined Intake: New forms that reduced admin time by filtering leads automatically.

  • Increased Visibility: A clean, SEO-optimized site that ranks effectively for local remodeling and demolition services.
