Edit Profile Redesign

Edit Profile Redesign

Improved user experience and increased data collection by redesigning the Edit Profile flow to align with branding and user needs.

I led the redesign of the Edit Profile experience on the EX Program — a digital health platform that helps people quit smoking. Over three weeks, I collaborated with the Innovations and Product teams to create a more user-friendly and visually consistent profile flow. My work spanned early research, low-fidelity wireframes, and interactive prototypes, all leading to a streamlined experience that supported better data collection and aligned with the product’s updated branding.

Problem

The original interface had not been updated in some time and was missing both branding consistency and opportunities to collect meaningful user data such as demographics, sponsorship information, product usage and contact information.

Research

Research

To better understand user needs and business goals, I began by meeting with the Product team. These conversations helped identify which profile fields were most important to users and what additional data could support more personalized experiences.

I then reviewed best practices for collecting and organizing user information in digital health products. This informed early design decisions around layout, grouping, and labeling.

To guide the user flow, I created personas and user stories focused on key actions—for example, “A user wants to update their contact info quickly and easily.” I also explored common UI patterns to ensure the design would be intuitive and familiar.

Design Process

I started with low-fidelity wireframes to explore layout options and structure the new profile experience. These early drafts allowed for quick feedback loops with the Product team, helping us align on content hierarchy and user flow before refining visual details.

As the design evolved, I built reusable components and interactive wireframes in Figma. These components included input fields, dropdown menus, buttons and chips. This ensured visual consistency and made it easier for stakeholders to visualize functionality and provide targeted feedback.

Research

To begin, I spoke with the product design team to better understand what information would be most valuable for users to view and update. These conversations also helped clarify what types of data we could collect to improve the user experience.

Afterward, I conducted preliminary research to identify best practices for gathering and organizing this type of user information effectively.

Process starts

To begin, I spoke with the product design team to better understand what information would be most valuable for users to view and update. These conversations also helped clarify what types of data we could collect to improve the user experience.

Afterward, I conducted preliminary research to identify best practices for gathering and organizing this type of user information effectively.

At this stage, we had defined the appropriate components for each type of data input and mapped out the key interactions. We presented the updated flow to the Product team for feedback, which helped validate our approach and ensured cross-team alignment before moving into high-fidelity design.

Solution

Once the layout and interaction flow were complete, our Senior Product Designer applied the final visual styling using components from the updated branding guide and prepared the design for development.

My work helped lay the foundation by defining the structure, interactions, and reusable components used throughout the final design.
