New Author Pages Design

New Author Pages Design

Designed, built, and launched the EX Program’s first author pages from the ground up

I led the end-to-end creation of the EX Program’s author pages—from researching best practices and designing responsive layouts in Figma to building the components in Wagtail and presenting the final design to the product team. These new pages highlight our authors’ expertise, build trust with readers, and strengthen our SEO strategy.

Problem

Users had no way to learn about the people behind our content, which impacted both credibility and SEO. The absence of author pages also meant missed opportunities to build trust with readers and establish our thought leadership.

Research

Research

I analyzed best practices across health and content-driven websites, identifying key components such as author bios, credentials, related articles, and professional headshots. These elements became the foundation for the new page structure.

Design Process

Using Figma, I created responsive layouts for both desktop and mobile views. The pages include key sections such as author bios, areas of expertise, and recent articles to keep users engaged and informed. After refining the designs through internal feedback, I built the components directly in Wagtail and presented the final layout to the product team for approval.

Research

To begin, I spoke with the product design team to better understand what information would be most valuable for users to view and update. These conversations also helped clarify what types of data we could collect to improve the user experience.

Afterward, I conducted preliminary research to identify best practices for gathering and organizing this type of user information effectively.

At this stage, I had defined the key components for the author page, mapped out content hierarchy, and designed both desktop and mobile layouts. I shared these mockups with the Product team to gather feedback and align on structure before moving into development.

Solution

The author pages are now live on the site, offering a more transparent, user-friendly experience while strengthening our SEO strategy. Readers can now easily explore who’s behind each article—reinforcing the EX Program’s authority and trustworthiness.
